“We got chile relleno, a tamale combo plate, chicken tortilla soup, and carne asada burrito (me). The carne asada was FANTASTIC! The meat was tender and well marinated! Wasn’t filled with beans and rice like some places. Generous portions of sour cream and guacamole too! My sister and brother in law loved their food too! I got a ton of pastries and cookies to go and couldn’t believe the great price! I’ll come back and recommend to everyone!!”

“The best Mexican Restaurant in the city of Oceanside. The food is excellent. The best part is they have a bakery inside the restaurant. All their pastries, cookies, conchas, everything is made from scratch. The coffee is very good. If you're ever in Oceanside I recommend you stop and eat there. They open up very early also, which is awesome. The Mission has a Native American Pow Wow every year in June, [ 2nd weekend of June]. It's walking distance from the event. “We love to take a morning walk through the mission and then stop here for a nice breakfast….and a pastry! They have put in more outdoor seating which is great in this time of social distancing. We’ve always gotten excellent service and the food is good. I love the Spanish omelette. Afterwards their chocolate cookies and pecan rolls are AMAZING. Don’t miss the empanadas de calabaza (pumpkin turnovers) either!”

“Got bakery items. The chocolate gluten free cookies are delicious and do not taste gluten free at all. The frosted cookies had flower designs which were beautiful and my friends said they were also delicious. The flan was great, and some said the flan wasn't as sweet as other places, and they liked it that way.”

“We are never disappointed by San Luis Rey. From breakfast to dinner and dessert from the bakery. The owners are super friendly, and they hire friendly, helpful staff. We make sure to stop in for at least one meal each time we’re in town.”
